Fabio Leonardi is a high-stake white collar criminal defense, investigations and regulatory enforcement attorney with the international law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in Washington, DC.

Selected as a Washington, DC, Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in White Collar Crime Defense and a member of the group ranked by Global Investigations Review for “Cross-Border Investigations” and by The American Lawyer for “Global Dispute of the Year,” Professor Leonardi defends individuals and corporations in criminal prosecutions, sensitive investigations and regulatory enforcement actions ranging from international corruption (FCPA, U.K. Bribery Act) and economic sanctions to securities fraud, tax crimes, criminal antitrust, asset forfeiture, money laundering and export controls.

Professor Leonardi's clients have included numerous global Fortune 500 companies, multinational financial institutions, ultra high net-worth individuals, business executives, royalties, international sports officials and heads of government agencies.

He routinely handles matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, IRS, U.S. Attorney’s offices, bank regulators and foreign law enforcement agencies.

He previously served in regulatory enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he investigated technology companies and advised on a major enforcement action leading to a $100 million settlement.

Professor Leonardi is admitted to practice law in New York, Florida and the District of Columbia. He attended the University of Michigan and holds an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. in Legal Science from the University of Padua (Italy).  He is actively involved in the Georgetown Law community by serving as a member of Georgetown Law's Recent Alumni Advisory Council, interviewing J.D. candidates and mentoring Georgetown Law students.
