Personal Information


B.A., University of Virginia; J.D., University of Maryland School of Law.  Professor Mitchell is a partner at the firm Stein, Mitchell, Cipollone, Beato, and Missner LLP, where his litigation and trial practice consists of medical malpractice, product liability, other serious personal injury, commercial and consumer protection cases in state and federal courts.  Prior to joining Stein Mitchell, Professor Mitchell practiced in the commercial and intellectual property litigation groups at Piper Rudnick LLP (now DLA Piper), where he handled patent, trademark, and commercial litigation for domestic and foreign corporations.  He is an active member of the District of Columbia and Maryland Trial Lawyers Associations, serving as the President of the TLA-DC.  He was the TLA-DC Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2014, and is listed in Best Lawyers and SuperLawyers.  Professor Mitchell is a member of the Order of the Coif and was on the executive committee of the University of Maryland Law Review.
