Ted Segal is a partner at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP focusing his practice on corporate and securities law, representing public and private companies in business and financial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, venture capital transactions, domestic and international joint ventures, and corporate restructurings and reorganizations. Professor Segal also provides general corporate counsel representation for a number of large institutional clients and many closely held businesses. In addition, he works extensively in the health-care area on a wide variety of transactions, including acquisitions, mergers, and reorganizations of significant health-care assets. Professor Segal was selected by the Legal Times as one of the ten top "Dealmakers" in Washington, DC, has been named a Washington, DC Super Lawyer for 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016 and was selected by SmartCEO magazine as one of its "Legal Elite" for 2009.

 

Professor Segal serves as outside corporate counsel to a number of national companies, including McCormick & Company, Incorporated, The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation, The Advisory Board Company, and The McLarty Companies. He is a Chair of the Board of The Children’s Law Center and a member of the Board of Junior Achievement of Greater Washington and the Federal City Council. At Stradley Ronon, Professor Segal served as Chair of the Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Practice Group and was a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors and Strategic Planning Committee.

 

Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Professor Segal was a partner at DLA Piper and served as a law clerk to Chief Judge William C. Pryor of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Professor Segal received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1984 and his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Duke University in 1977.
