Certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies

Georgetown Law’s Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) offers J.D. and LL.M. students the opportunity to pursue a Certificate in World Trade Organization (WTO) & International Trade Studies as a complement to the student's degree program.  The Law Center will not admit students solely for the Certificate program.
Students accepted into the Certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies program study with globally recognized WTO and international economic diplomacy experts; have the opportunity to author a research paper on cutting-edge global trade matters; attend relevant IIEL events throughout the academic year; and engage in one or more capstone experiences such as the John Jackson (ELSA) WTO Moot Court Competition and practical training under supervisory experts, addressing real-world legal and policy challenges on behalf of actual beneficiaries.    To receive the Certificate, students must complete all Certificate and degree requirements.  Successful Certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies candidates have gone on to win prestigious post-graduate internships and other positions in multiple WTO divisions, private practice and on behalf of governments active in WTO dispute settlement and global trade.
